Leadership Training for Fairview Small Business Owners: A Collin College Opportunity

How Fairview entrepreneurs can strengthen leadership skills, build better teams, and grow with Collin College’s Leadership Essentials program

If you run a small business in our community, or you’re dreaming of opening one, I’m going to tell you straight: strong leadership isn’t a luxury — it’s the backbone of success under God’s design for work and community. Fairview sits inside the Collin College service area, and Collin College is offering a leadership program built to strengthen you, your team, and your business from the inside out.

Here’s what you need to know about the 2026 Leadership Essentials for Business Success series:

What it is: A five-part leadership development series from Collin College designed to equip business leaders — whether you’re seasoned or just stepping into leadership — with the skills to lead smarter and manage people well.

Where and when: Held at the Collin College McKinney Campus, one Wednesday morning each month — January through May 2026 — from 8:30 AM to noon.

Topics you’ll master:

• Navigating the Leadership Role — understand what real leadership looks like in every-sized business.
• Communication and Conflict Management — learn to communicate clearly and resolve conflict before it derails your purpose.
• Managing Performance and Goal Setting — set goals that matter and hold people to them with integrity.
• Managing from the Middle — lead up and down your organization with confidence.
• Building and Leading Strong Teams — strong teams multiply your impact.

Cost and funding: The course fee is $495, but here’s the real news — small businesses with fewer than 100 employees may qualify for full funding through the Texas Workforce Commission’s Skills for Small Business (SSB) grant. That means you can invest in leadership development without draining your operating budget. Register Here!

Why it matters for Fairview: We’re a small business community with big ambitions. Leadership isn’t something you “pick up later” — it’s what shapes your culture, drives your growth, and determines how you treat your team and your customers. This isn’t theory — this is practical training that helps you operate with excellence, wisdom, and impact right here at home. If you want your business to thrive instead of just survive, leadership capacity has to be your top priority.

Practical heads-up: Registration closes January 1, 2026, and if you plan to use the Skills for Small Business grant, you need to apply 5–6 weeks before classes begin.

For Fairview business owners: leadership is not a buzzword — it’s a responsibility. If you’re serious about growing your business, strengthening your team, and setting a new standard for leadership in our community, this program is worth your attention.

If you want direct assistance figuring out the grant process or which sessions best fit your goals, I can walk you through what matters most so you don’t miss out on this opportunity.
